It's
usually only bubble-headed
heiresses that get sports cars
for presents, but that's set to
change with a new range of
super-trendy pedal and electric
cars from Totcars.co.uk
Yup, that's right, little Jonny
can now hit the strip in an only
slightly deformed Alfa 8C (£249.00)
or Ferrari Enzo (£369 - both
produced under licence) powered
by a 12v battery that can hit a
heady 4.4mph - and that's
absolutely fast enough thank
you.
You even get alloy wheels and
your own custom numberplates on
the range of supercars, but if
the production car schtick
doesn't float your four-year-old's
boat then how about the 'Black
Comet Hot Rod' (£169), or the
'Chrome retro racer' at a heady
£395?
The range includes everything
from heavy plant equipment to
Grand Prix cars - so there
should be something that piques
the interest of the toddler in
your life. Just hope they don't
grow up expecting the real thing
when they're 18...

Bring the Toys! UK's Totcars announces Christmas
ride-on lineup
Here in the States, the kids lust
after Power Wheels. On a recent
shopping trip to buy my daughter
her first real bike, she pointed
at a red Power Wheels Mustang, and
asked, "Can we get that?"
One pink bicycle with handlebar
basket later, the pint-sized 'Stang
is but a distant memory (thank
goodness). Still, the attraction
is understandable -- those ride-ons
are pretty cool.
In the UK, a company called Totcars
appears to be the heavy hitter in
this segment, and it's released
its lineup of electric and pedal
cars for Christmas 2007. From the
looks of things, British moms (or
is it "mums") and dads
are just as likely to be besieged
with pleas from their kids as we
are. Since Totcars is on the other
side of the pond, there are some
models represented that we'd never
see here. That Alfa 8C is pretty
cool, as are the Ferrari F1 cars
and Renault Megane Trophy. Oh, and
dig that Caterpillar dump truck --
it has twin
12V motors

Totcars launches its
largest Christmas line-up
31 July 2007
From Alfa Romeo to Audi,
Mini to Mercedes and a
line-up that includes dumper
trucks, tractors and fire
engines, Totcars presents
its largest collection of
children’s electric and
pedal cars in readiness for
Christmas.
‘Getting behind the
wheel’ is every
youngster’s dream and with
such a wide range to choose
from they can drive a car
just like Mum and Dad,
pretend to be the next Kimi
Raikkonen or Felipe Massa in
a Formula 1 Ferrari, or even
start building their own
tracks and circuits with a
digger or dumper truck.
With over 500 products to
choose from on the Totcars
website – www.totcars.com
– there’s an electric or
pedal car for virtually
every child over the age of
three including the ever
popular Ferrari Enzo and new
for this year, the
Caterpillar dump truck and
Pontiac Solstice.
Ferrari Enzo – 12 volt
electric sports car
Your child can be like Jay
Kay from Jamiroquai and live
the rock star dream with
this superb and very rare
Italian supercar. Licenced
by Ferrari and designed in
conjunction with its
engineers, this Enzo comes
in iconic Ferrari red, and
is finished with alloy-look
wheels and a sports steering
wheel.
The celebrity look is
completed with a
personalised number plate of
your choice, and with a
two-speed gearbox and scaled
down top speed of 5mph
(8km/h), is sure to impress
neighbours and classmates
alike.
Caterpillar dump truck –
powered by two 12 volt
motors
For the aspiring civil
engineer or child who wants
to construct a better world,
this six wheeled, two seat
Caterpillar (CAT) dump truck
will provide hours of
imaginative and creative
play.
Complete with a flashing
beacon and realistic CAT
sound effects, this truck
can help re-shape your
garden – quite literally!
With forward and reverse
gears and a top speed of
over 4mph, this bright
yellow monster tipper will
be a highly popular
‘find’ under the
Christmas tree.
Pontiac Solstice
Kids can imagine they’re
Hollywood film stars
cruising Santa Monica
Boulevard, heading up Route
66 or driving off into the
sunset with this two seater
all-American dream machine.
What might be a bit of a gas
guzzler in real life, takes
its power from a single 12
volt battery, but feeds it
smoothly to two electric
motors that propel this
slick open-top sports model
to a blistering 5mph.
With the real AM radio tuned
into the local rock station,
big chunky tyres, cool
graphics and a choice of
blue, pink or green exterior
finishes, this Pontiac will
certainly cut a dash down
your drive and across the
lawn!

Times Car child car testing The
Sunday Times motoring journalists and a panel of children conducted a
series of tests to find the best kids cars on the market this Christmas.
Four Totcars were among the cars rigorously tested at the Police driver

their paces. Read all about their findings in the 30 November motoring

response to demand for motorbikes and quads we have added the top of the

The addition of Feber vehicles comes after a 2 year evaluation of the

Totcars Sales Director Andrew Shoesmith elaborates: "Our
customers are accustomed to having the pick of Europe's finest licensed
vehicles, with unsurpassed design and build quality. In launching a new
range of quads, 4x4s and motorbikes we had to ensure we only offered
products that would satisfy our own and our customers very demanding
criteria. Feber was selected for its outstanding build quality,
cutting edge design and robust electrics. We believe these are the finest

The largest

Christmas shoppers eager to get their hands on a Totcar before theyre all

What the
Sunday Telegraph has to say about us...
How
to buy the best on the net. This week: toys for small boys
As far as Christmas presents are concerned, my son Ivo has reached the
perfect age. At four, he's just old enough to understand concepts such as
"cool" and "uncool", and still young enough to believe
that looks, flashiness and noise-making capability count for more than
price. He's also innocent enough for me to be able to blame Father
Christmas if it all goes wrong. So it's toys for small boys this week.
I'll be doing toys for big boys/fathers and for small girls a few columns
hence.
Ferrari 250 GTO replica pedal car, £124, battery-operated, £218.23, both
from www.totcars.com.
There are dozens of models - Porsches, Jags, Mercs, Beemers etc - all
reproduced in fine miniature detail for children with indulgent daddies.
They also do a petrol-driven model for £1,410. It's a smart site, but I
wish they'd quote their prices including VAT.

The Parenting Show at Hop Farm Park was a
huge success with thousands of people turning out to see a wonderful array

hordes of little drivers testing their skills in the latest Ferraris,
Jaguars and Alfas. The battery powered cars performed exceptionally well,
going all weekend without needing to be recharged. When they weren't
driving the kids were also able to busy themselves clambering all over the
cars at our mini showroom inside the main exhibition hall where there were
hundreds of great parenting stands - check out our favorite at www.willyumyum.co.uk

The
Totcars kids invade Channel 4 The
Totcars test drivers swarmed into the Channel 4 breakfast show RISE TV to
put some of the cars through their paces under the watchful eye of the
road safety authorities who were on hand to pass on some driving tips. The
little drivers were up at 4am to be in time for rehearsals and the start
of 2 hours of live TV at 7am. The Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 360 and
Jaguar XK8 were featured in the show which included a tiny tot driving test
and no holds barred race. The BMW Z3 was also there to provide some eye
candy - and stunning Sports presenter Helen Chamberlain couldn't resist commandeering
it and joining in the race - she didn't win but she
proved even twentysomethings can fit in a Totcar if they reaalllllly want
to. Totcars
